Michael Wilson D.O. is excited to return to Southern Nevada five years after completing his medical training at Touro University of Nevada, College of Osteopathic Medicine.

After graduating from Touro, Dr. Wilson completed an Anesthesiology Residency Program at Detroit Medical Center and a Pain Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Dr. Wilson scored in the top 10% on the American Board of Anesthesiology Basic Examination and was voted by peers to become chief anesthesiology resident at the Detroit Medical Center.

During the coronavirus pandemic the Detroit Medical Center became overwhelmed with patients and the PACU was converted into an ICU for ventilated patients who tested positive for COVID-19. As chief resident, Dr. Wilson’s responsibilities were to help manage the quickly evolving crisis by coming up with policies and procedures to ensure safe patient care for the new ICU and intubation teams in addition to managing patients in the ICU.

Dr. Wilson believes it is important to do what’s best for the patient in the long term by listening to them and understanding their needs. He chose Southern Nevada Pain Center because he feels like Dr. Kim, Dr. Erkulvrawatr and the staff care about patients enough to spend time with them compared to other pain clinics where patients are moved through appointments rapidly to increase volume.

Dr. Wilson is excited to meet his patients at Southern Nevada Pain Center and work with them to chart a plan to overcome their pain problems.

Dr. Wilson is married and has two children.
